The Construction Laboratory of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences is located in the Technology Park of the City of Villach in the Science & Energy Labs (virtual walk through the labs). Up to ten fully-employed researchers and a number of students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Architecture are continously performing experimental campaigns and scientific investigations (virtual walk at the campus in Spittal). Among others, the departments of building physics, building materials technology and structural engineering are located here.

In the construction laboratory, research projects are continuously carried out together with other universities (Graz University of Technology, University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna) or various industrial partners. A major part of the research projects is funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).
EU-funded Interreg projects are carried out together with partners such as ZAG, University of Udine, University of Padua and others to strengthen cross-border cooperations.
